We were reunited with the psychologist José Mário Albino, from ACAPO Coimbra.
In the course of this conversation we had the opportunity to be clarified some doubts that arose during the accompaniment of the blind On the visit of the monastery of Santa Clara-a-velha.
We wanted to know how blind people can do day-to-day tasks that are so easy for us, but which can become a nightmare for anyone who is unable to see, such as putting a clothes to wash.
Sounds like a pretty simple thing to do, right? But how can the blind people separate the colors of the clothes so as not to dye it? How will they spot the stains?
In a long conversation and after some games we conclude that the blind people are forced to develop the other 4 senses, not being able to count on the vision. In this way, they develop their other senses so that they can get around the difficulties that arise. However, sometimes and for certain activities, they need help. Help given by friends, family or if necessary by the ACAPO association.
the psychologist José Mário Albino, our group decided to develop an activity with the aim of sensitizing the school community. We contacted ACAPO Coimbra, and we already counted on the collaboration of some associates of the same association.
This activity will be held on May 12 (Monday), in the space in front of the bar and canteen monoblocks and from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a lunch break from 1:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Guidance exercises will be held on an obstacle course where participants will be blindfolded, ordination exercises and recognition exercises.
